Four Corners: Gaming The Games (ABC TV Monday 3 April 2023)

Hagar Cohen’s investigation, “Gaming The Games,” airing on Monday’s Four Corners on ABC TV, reveals a scandal at the heart of the Paralympic Games.

The Paralympic Games are now the third largest athletic event in the world, with revenues and sponsorships in the tens of millions of dollars.

Despite its intention to provide Paralympians with a level playing field, past athletes and high-ranking officials Hagar Cohen interviewed told her the system is flawed and easily manipulated.

According to those familiar with the culture, employees routinely break classification rules with little fear of consequences.

They worry that players who play by the rules will continue to be discriminated against if nothing is done to change the system significantly.
