Netflix has announced that The Four Seasons, a new comedy series created by and starring Tina Fey, will premiere on Thursday, May 1. All eight episodes of the first season will be available at once.
Here’s the Lowdown: The series centers on three couples – Kate (Fey) and Jack, Nick and Anne, and Danny and Claud – whose close friendship is disrupted when one couple announces their split. The show tracks the group over a year, showing how the separation impacts their relationships during four seasonal vacations.
What This Means Now: This is a new project from Tina Fey, reuniting her with collaborators from previous successful shows. The ensemble cast includes Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco Calvani, Erika Henningsen, Colman Domingo and Steve Carell.
The Bigger Picture: The Four Seasons is based on the 1981 film of the same name. Fey co-created the series with Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield. David Miner, Jeff Richmond and Eric Gurian also serve as executive producers. The single-day release of all episodes continues the Netflix trend of giving you a complete series in one go.
