Fox Nation Presents Surviving a Serial Killer with Harris Faulkner

Fox Nation has debuted a new three-part series, Surviving a Serial Killer, hosted by Fox News Channel’s Harris Faulkner. The series details the harrowing true story of Lisa McVey, who, at just 17 years old, endured a 26-hour abduction and brutal torture at the hands of infamous serial killer Bobby Joe Long in 1984.

Faulkner, a six-time Emmy Award-winning anchor and author, provides an in-depth exploration of McVey’s traumatic experience, her courageous escape, and the aftermath that led to Long’s arrest. The series includes an extensive one-on-one interview with McVey herself, now a motivational speaker and Tampa-based Sheriff’s Deputy dedicated to protecting other victims.

In the series, McVey recounts her terrifying encounter with Long, who grabbed her off her bicycle after a double shift at Krispy Kreme. She reveals how she was raped and tortured, certain that she would be killed. Despite initial disbelief from the police, McVey left behind a trail of evidence, including a lock of hair and fingerprints, and provided an extraordinarily detailed memory of her captor, which ultimately led to his capture.

The series also features interviews with key figures such as Larry Pinkerton, the police lieutenant who worked with McVey, and Lloyd Sowers, a journalist who covered the abduction. Pinkerton reflects on the case that led to Long’s execution by the state of Florida.

Faulkner, known for her anchoring roles on The Faulkner Focus and Outnumbered, has conducted insightful interviews with notable newsmakers and covered significant global news events throughout her career.
