Fox is crafting a one-hour drama series, ‘The Miracle Department,’ from the minds of writers and executive producers Brendan McCarthy and Alex Kavallierou, known for their work on the Netflix series ‘Grace and Frankie.’ Marta Kauffman, co-creator of the iconic ‘Friends’ and a collaborator on ‘Grace and Frankie,’ joins the team as an executive producer.
‘The Miracle Department’ is described as “a heartfelt and comedic hour-long series” that follows a brilliant, disgraced former FBI agent who finds themselves working with a quirky task force, tasked with seeking out authentic miracles. The series draws inspiration from a real Catholic organization, adding an intriguing layer to the story.
The creative team of McCarthy, Kavallierou, and Kauffman reunites, previously having worked together on the acclaimed ‘Grace and Frankie,’ which boasted a stellar cast including Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Their collaboration garnered multiple nominations, including Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe Award nomination.
