FOX Sets June Premiere for ‘The Snake,’ a Social Strategy Gauntlet From SallyAnn Salsano

FOX is jumping back into the reality competition game with The Snake, a new unscripted series from veteran producer SallyAnn Salsano (Jersey Shore, Joe Millionaire) set to premiere Tuesday, June 10 at 9 PM ET/PT. The series will stream next day on Hulu.

Hosted by comedian Jim Jefferies, the series drops 15 contestants into a high-stakes social experiment where charisma, persuasion, and cold calculation are the only tools that matter. The prize: $100,000. The catch: no one wins without outsmarting everyone else.

Each episode centers on a strategic challenge built around manipulation, influence, and verbal gameplay—skill sets the cast knows well. Competitors are drawn from professions built on persuasion, including a lawyer, a pastor, a bounty hunter, a poker player, and a former inmate. Weekly winners assume the role of “The Snake,” wielding control over a key ritual called “The Saving Ceremony,” where one contestant will always be left out—and eliminated.

It’s a structure designed to reward the most socially dominant player in the room while fueling shifting alliances and real-time betrayals. And with a cast this eclectic—think OnlyFans meets HR, boxing meets bull riding—nothing stays stable for long.

Salsano exec produces through 495 Productions, bringing her brand of high-impact, character-driven competition to a format that leans more social strategy than brute strength. This marks another unscripted swing for FOX in the summer window, where competition formats continue to draw loyal audiences on linear while feeding Hulu’s binge pipeline.

The Snake also leans into the meta appeal of reality as performance—pitting players who sell themselves for a living against one another in a game where everything is up for negotiation, and nothing is off the table. Romantic connections, fake friendships, and shifting power plays are all part of the strategy.
