FOX will debut The Faithful, a new three-week event series, on Sunday, March 22, 2025, airing 8:00–10:00 PM ET/PT. The project reimagines five pivotal women of the Old Testament through a modern dramatic lens, with a broadcast run leading into Easter Sunday.
The series follows Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Leah, and Rachel. Each woman anchors a chapter that delves into ambition, sacrifice, motherhood, and power. Episodes unfold through their personal viewpoints, reframing the Book of Genesis around their choices and consequences.
The Faithful is executive produced by Carol Mendelsohn, known for her long-running work on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Rene Echevarria serves as writer and showrunner. His previous credits include The 4400 and Carnival Row. Production begins this summer in Rome and Matera, with both cities providing the historical backdrop for the show’s visual scale.
Each episode pairs biblical themes with character-driven drama. Sarah’s desperation to bear a child leads to a decision that shapes generations. Hagar’s story tracks the fallout. Rebekah’s interference in a family inheritance sets off a brutal chain of events. Leah and Rachel’s shared love for the same man becomes a rivalry that redefines their bond.
The Faithful is produced by FOX Entertainment Studios, with global rights handled by FOX Entertainment Global. In the US, each episode will stream next-day on Hulu.
The series isn’t positioned as a religious text. It’s a drama about legacy and the long reach of personal decisions. The women in these stories shaped dynasties, often from behind the curtain. This series brings them to the front.
The Faithful premieres Sunday, March 22, 2025, on FOX.
