Sun, sand, and… drug traffickers? A&E’s “Fugitive Hunters Mexico” heads south of the border this week in pursuit of a California man who thought a Mexican beach town was the perfect hiding spot. Spoiler alert: It’s not.

This week’s episode, “Hiding in Plain Sight,” sees the elite Mexican police unit tracking down a fugitive wanted for drug and firearm trafficking. They’re also on the hunt for a young, convicted drug trafficker who’s managed to evade capture. Working with intel from the FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals, and Mexican authorities, the Fugitive Hunters face considerable risks in their pursuit of justice.

“Fugitive Hunters Mexico” offers a compelling look at cross-border law enforcement and the challenges of apprehending fugitives who think they can outrun their past. The series provides a unique perspective on the cooperation (and sometimes, the tension) between US and Mexican authorities, and it highlights the dedication of those working to bring criminals to justice.
