Fugitives: Caught on Tape #119 & #120 (A&E, Wednesday, December 18, 2024)

Fugitives Caught on Tape Key Art

A&E’s Fugitives: Caught on Tape doubles down on its adrenaline-fueled formula with two back-to-back episodes this Wednesday. For viewers who find their Wednesday nights lacking in vehicular mayhem and desperate attempts to evade justice, this might just be the cure.

First up, in episode #119 at 10 PM, we’re treated to the pursuit of a suspect wanted for shooting a highway patrolman and, adding insult to injury, making off with the officer’s cruiser. One imagines the subsequent chase wasn’t exactly a leisurely Sunday drive. This episode also features officers pursuing a reckless driver, because apparently one high-speed pursuit per half-hour just isn’t enough.

Then, at 10:30 PM, episode #120 dials up the intensity with a carjacking suspect whose high-speed getaway ends rather abruptly in a crash. We’re also promised the sight of an officer performing some impressive vehicular acrobatics, climbing onto a fleeing vehicle as if auditioning for a Fast & Furious sequel.

Fugitives: Caught on Tape sets itself apart through its multi-faceted approach to capturing these real-life dramas. Forget your standard dashcam footage; this show throws in everything but the kitchen sink: body cams, security cameras, traffic cameras, doorbell footage, and even the occasional shaky smartphone video. It’s a veritable surveillance state smorgasbord.
