A&E’s Fugitives: Caught on Tape is back this Wednesday with a two-hour block of high-octane police chases and tense arrests, just the thing for viewers who prefer their reality TV with a side of adrenaline.
In the first hour, episode #115, we’re treated to a collection of pursuits, including a 911 call placed mid-road rage incident and a state trooper’s pursuit of a man wanted for domestic assault who’s also made the questionable decision to bring his six-year-old son along for the ride.
Then, at 11 p.m., episode #116 kicks off with a shootout in Tampa involving a man wanted for stabbing his wife. As if that weren’t enough, we also witness a state trooper executing a PIT maneuver on a hit-and-run suspect and another chase involving some folks suspected of armed carjacking. Because one PIT maneuver per night just wouldn’t be enough.
Fugitives: Caught on Tape continues to offer a look at law enforcement action through a mix of body cam footage, dash cam recordings, security camera captures, and more. While other shows may offer dramatizations or carefully edited narratives, Fugitives opts for what it claims is a more unfiltered approach, seemingly striving to portray the real-world challenges and dangers faced by officers on a daily basis. It’s a formula that has clearly resonated with viewers seeking raw, visceral content, although questions about the potential for selective editing and narrative framing, as always with this kind of reality TV, remain.
Fugitives: Caught on Tape airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on A&E. Mark your calendars for this Wednesday, December 4, 2024, for a double dose of action.
