FX has set the premiere date for its upcoming horror drama series Grotesquerie, created by Ryan Murphy, with the first episode airing on Wednesday, 25 September, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX. The series will also be available for streaming the next day on Hulu, and internationally on Disney+.
Grotesquerie centers on Detective Lois Tryon (Niecy Nash-Betts), who investigates a series of disturbing crimes in a small community, feeling a personal connection to the cases. Tryon navigates a strained relationship with her daughter, a hospitalised husband, and her own inner demons. She joins forces with Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), a nun and journalist, who believes in humanity’s capacity for good despite her past experiences. Together, they unravel a sinister web of mysteries that raises more questions than answers.
The series also stars Courtney B. Vance as Marshall Tryon, Lesley Manville as Nurse Redd, Nicholas Alexander Chavez as Father Charlie, Raven Goodwin as Merritt Tryon, and Travis Kelce.
Grotesquerie is written and created by Ryan Murphy, Jon Robin Baitz, and Joe Baken, with Murphy, Max Winkler, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Elegance Bratton directing. The executive producers include Murphy, Woodall, Baitz, Baken, Winkler, Nash-Betts, Vance, Peter Liguori, Nissa Diederich, Eric Kovtun, and Scott Robertson. The show is produced by 20th Television.
