It’s going to be double the game show fun! Game Show Network (GSN) is launching two new shows on Monday, April 14: a revamped Tic Tac Dough and the all-new Bingo Blitz. Both shows will air weeknights.
Here’s the Lowdown: Tic Tac Dough, hosted by Brooke Burns (Master Minds, The Chase), kicks off at 7 PM ET. This updated version of the classic game has two contestants battling it out on a giant trivia board, trying to get three marks in a row. The winner faces the “dragon” in the final round for a chance at $10,000. Bingo Blitz, hosted by Valerie Bertinelli, follows at 7:30 PM ET. This brand new show is based on the popular free-to-play app of the same name.
What This Means Now: Game show fans have two new options to add to their weeknight viewing schedule. Tic Tac Dough brings back a familiar format with a modern twist, while Bingo Blitz brings the excitement of the mobile game to television.
The Bigger Picture: Both shows represent GSN’s effort to provide engaging and entertaining content. Tic Tac Dough is a revival of a classic game show, originally created by Robert Noah. Bingo Blitz blends trivia and bingo, where contestants earn points and bingo balls by answering questions, with gold balls to strategise, and ‘power-ups’ that can earn extra points. The player with the highest score after three rounds has a shot at $10,000 in the final “Blitz” round. The addition of well-known hosts like Brooke Burns (also known for Ally McBeal, Baywatch and Melrose Place and films Shallow Hal and Trial by Fire) and Valerie Bertinelli (One Day At A Time, Hot in Cleveland) adds star power to the network’s lineup. Bertinelli will also soon feature on Disney Jr’s new animated series RoboGobo.
