CBS MORNINGS is set to follow co-host Gayle King’s trip to the edge of space, making it a central feature of the program’s guest schedule from April 14th. King’s flight aboard Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket from West Texas will receive extensive coverage across multiple days, supplemented by conversations with figures from science, entertainment, and exploration.
The focus begins Monday, April 14th, as King departs from Blue Origin’s Launch Site One. Co-host Nate Burleson and featured host Vlad Duthiers will provide reports from Van Horn, Texas. To add background, the show plans talks with astronaut Dr. Mae Jemison, aerospace engineer Emily Calandrelli (“The Space Gal”), and CBS News space consultant Bill Harwood. Other guests include explorer Vanessa O’Brien, who previously flew with Blue Origin, actor David Oyelowo (“Government Cheese”), and CBS Sports reporter Amanda Balionis.
On Tuesday, April 15th, the broadcast continues the space theme as King shares details about her flight. Viewers will get a look at her training and her personal account of managing a fear of heights to participate. Fellow Blue Origin flight members Aisha Bowe, a former NASA rocket scientist, and film producer Kerianne Flynn are scheduled to appear. Also booked are Soleil Moon Frye and Angel Carter Conrad of Paramount+’s “THE CARTERS,” along with actress turned author Lake Bell (“All About Brains”).
Later in the week, the guest list broadens. Wednesday, April 16th, features director Ryan Coogler and actor Michael B. Jordan talking about “Sinners,” alongside authors Ross Mathews and Dr. Wellinthon García-Mathews. James Brolin joins on Thursday, April 17th, to discuss “Ransom Canyon,” while Colossal founder Ben Lamm and scientist Beth Shapiro are also set to appear. The week wraps up Friday, April 18th, with CBS MORNINGS PLUS co-host Adriana Diaz interviewing actor Tom Francis.
