Port Charles better invest in some serious fire extinguishers. “General Hospital” kicks off the week of January 6 with a bang – literally – as an explosion rips through Sonny Corinthos’ penthouse, leaving Michael caught in the inferno. While we’re pretty sure Michael isn’t going anywhere, the cliffhanger will drag into Tuesday’s episode, guaranteeing some tense moments.

Elsewhere in PC, Josslyn Jacks continues her relentless pursuit of Dex Heller’s killer, determined to unmask the “monster” responsible. Her investigation leads to a surprise revelation, though whether it’s a red herring or a genuine lead is anyone’s guess. Meanwhile, Portia Robinson seems suspicious of Cyrus Renault’s lurking presence, banning him from General Hospital. Is she onto something, or is Cyrus just enjoying the hospital cafeteria’s surprisingly decent Jell-O?

The Corinthos family drama continues to simmer as Michael and Willow’s custody battle turns nasty. Michael, never one to shy away from a low blow, uses Willow’s recent trip to Washington against her. Carly Spencer, naturally, adds fuel to the fire with her disapproval of Willow’s choices. Because every soap opera needs a meddling mother-in-law.

Across town, Jack Brennan is convinced Charlotte Cassadine will betray Valentin, leading them right to him. This despite Charlotte’s clear decision to remain with her father. It’s the kind of unwavering faith that keeps private investigators in business, even when the evidence suggests otherwise. And let’s not forget Collette Girard, back from Prague and presumably still fuming after her failure to off Valentin. Clearly, Valentin’s frequent flyer miles aren’t the only things racking up.

“General Hospital” airs weekdays at 2:00 PM on ABC. Don’t miss the explosive episode on Monday, January 6, 2025.
