Ah, Port Charles, where the drama is always high and the medical crises are more frequent than commercial breaks. This week, Heather Webber’s release from Pentonville is causing understandable consternation, especially for Portia, who’s probably picturing Heather wreaking havoc on her freshly reunited family.
Elizabeth, ever the helpful friend, offers support and a “Plan B” should Curtis’s mysterious “Plan A” to get Heather out of town fail spectacularly. I’m guessing Plan A doesn’t involve a one-way ticket to a remote island, which is a shame.
Meanwhile, the return of Steven Webber should create some family drama with Liz. Because no one in Port Charles can just have a quiet, uncomplicated life. And speaking of complicated, Laura is putting her faith in Isaiah to perform Lulu’s surgery. Considering Lulu’s history of medical misfortunes, this is either a testament to Isaiah’s skills or a sign of Port Charles’s perpetually dwindling supply of competent medical professionals.
Elsewhere, Sam faces surgery, and Scout is understandably worried. It’s a heartwarming, if somewhat predictable, moment of family bonding before a potentially life-altering event. And because this is General Hospital, “potentially life-altering” often translates to “potentially fatal.” Let’s hope Scout’s fears aren’t justified.
Finally, we have Carly and Jason squabbling over the enigmatic Jack Brennan. Carly sees a softer side to the man, while Jason, ever the pragmatist, probably just sees a walking red flag.
General Hospital airs Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. on ABC.
