General Hospital Wednesday November 27 Recap: “Lulu’s Back & Ava’s on Trial”

General Hospital Key Art

Well, Wednesday’s “General Hospital” was certainly a busy day in Port Charles, wasn’t it? Lulu Spencer, back from the land of the catatonic, popped up like a misplaced houseplant at her old home, then at the Quartermaine mansion, confusing everyone except young James, who recognized her from a dusty photo album. Lulu’s sudden reappearance, looking understandably bewildered, set off a frantic search, with Lucky and Elizabeth scouring Turning Woods security footage to figure out just how she managed to waltz out unnoticed. Cyrus Renault, naturally, played innocent when questioned, but let’s be frank, nobody ever believes him, do they?

Meanwhile, Ava Jerome’s trial took center stage, a daytime soap opera within a soap opera. Emotional testimonies from Kristina, Natalia (who concocted a rather convenient tale about causing the accident), and Molly, followed by Ava’s own tearful account, painted a picture of, well, a mess. Ava admitted to some questionable choices, but insisted the whole baby-losing incident was unintentional. The jury’s still out (literally), but my money’s on a verdict that will satisfy absolutely no one.

Elsewhere in Port Charles, the Brook Lynn and Chase baby-making project chugged along, with the added wrinkle of Brook Lynn’s ongoing clandestine dealings with Lois, who, for those keeping score, moved to town last year and apparently hasn’t found anything better to do than meddle. Sasha shared her pregnancy news with Maxie, because secrets are apparently the currency of this town.

Speaking of secrets, just how Lulu escaped Turning Woods and what her mental state actually is remains a mystery, but it’s a safe bet it will involve some conveniently timed amnesia and several episodes of dramatic reveals.

“General Hospital” airs weekdays at 2:00 PM on ABC.
