In a twist that could only happen in Port Charles, Lulu Spencer’s return from a medically induced coma has thrown multiple families into a chaotic mix of joy, grief, and some seriously complicated relationship drama. Tuesday’s General Hospital was a rollercoaster for long-time General Hospital viewers, especially those invested in the Spencer, Falconeri, and Davis clans.
Young Danny, grappling with the recent loss of his mother, Sam, found the sudden reappearance of his aunt Lulu almost too much to bear. The poor kid’s emotional whiplash was palpable, thankfully finding some solace with Jason and Carly. Meanwhile, Lulu’s awakening brought a heartwarming reunion with her father, Lucky. But that joy was quickly tempered by the devastating news of Luke’s death and the almost unbelievable revelation that Sam, Dante’s former wife and Danny’s mother, had sacrificed her own life to save Lulu by donating her liver. The writers really piled it on, huh? And speaking of Dante, he conveniently sidestepped telling Lulu the full truth about his recently rekindled relationship with Sam. Tick-tock, Dante. That ticking you hear is the soap opera time bomb about to explode.
Plus, Cyrus Renault, proving once again that he’s the king of terrible timing, was apprehended for stalking Lulu. The arrest created more tension for an already stressed Laura, leading her to seek a restraining order. Anna Devane, never one to sit on the sidelines, began her search for Valentin. Because where there’s smoke with Valentin, there’s usually a dumpster fire of international intrigue.
Over in the Corinthian corner of Port Charles, Sonny and Natalia tried to clean up the mess left by their perjury. You know, like normal family dinner conversation. They touched on Kristina’s complicated situation, likely foreshadowing more drama to come. And Molly, still reeling from TJ’s departure, unleashed her fury on Ric, blaming him for the fractured relationship. Ric, naturally, tried to smooth things over, because that’s what Llanview-expats who become Port Charles lawyers do.
In other, slightly less dramatic developments, Maxie learned that Lulu was the mystery intruder Dante had been encountering. She wisely advised him to be honest with Lulu about his feelings for Sam, while simultaneously withholding information from Dante herself. Classic Maxie. Lulu, displaying her usual sharp intuition, began to suspect that Dante was grieving a lost love, putting the pieces together about his relationship with Sam.
Amidst all this chaos, Molly wrestled with the pain of losing TJ and sorted through her complicated feelings. While Ric attempted to mend fences with Molly after his courtroom maneuvering drove TJ away. Look, family therapy might be a better investment than any legal strategy at this point.
General Hospital airs weekdays at 2:00 PM on ABC.
