Nearly three months after undergoing a significant change in its writers’ room, the popular soap opera General Hospital has appointed a new co-head writing team. Chris Van Etten, who previously served as co-head writer, returns to the role, this time partnering with Elizabeth Korte. Concurrently, GH writer Cathy LePard has been promoted to associate head writer.
Van Etten and Korte are long-time members of the General Hospital family. They replace the former co-head writer Patrick Mulcahey, who departed earlier this year after the show’s triumph at the 50th Annual Daytime Emmys.
The first episode bearing the new head writing team’s signature will air on August 8.
Van Etten’s previous credits include a stint on One Life to Live, while Korte has been a part of the General Hospital team since 1994.
