Carly Corinthos, never one to shy away from a good mystery, finds herself increasingly drawn to Jack Brennan’s clandestine life on Tuesday’s General Hospital. Their Valentine’s Day bouquet exchange isn’t exactly standard soapy romance, especially considering Brennan’s side hustle recruiting Josslyn for the WSB. Carly likes knowing his secret, but how long before this shared confidence blows up in her face? The real question is whether Josslyn’s budding spy career is more dangerous than hanging around Sonny’s warehouse.
Meanwhile, Jason Morgan finds himself free from the PCPD, but not free from Anna Devane’s watchful eye. She releases him, but with a clear message: trust her to handle Cyrus Renault legally, or else. Jason’s history suggests he’s not great at following instructions, particularly when it comes to staying out of trouble. So, place your bets on how long this truce lasts.
Elsewhere in Port Charles, Lulu Spencer opens up to Dante Falconeri about her maternal anxieties. Dante, being the stand-up guy he is, offers support. It’s a touch of normalcy in a town usually defined by mob wars and swapped identities.
Adding to the drama is the debut of Guy Wilson as the temporary Lucky Spencer. Unfortunately, his timing couldn’t be worse. Cyrus appears on Elizabeth Webber’s doorstep, potentially putting Lucky right in the crosshairs. This sets up a classic soap opera scenario: the newcomer in immediate peril.
Rounding out the episode, Harrison Chase makes a grand, and likely ill-advised, romantic gesture toward Brook Lynn Quartermaine. She continues to wrestle with her guilt over giving her baby up for adoption, because happiness is apparently forbidden in Port Charles. Portia Robinson pushes Curtis Ashford for details about a Valentine’s Day surprise, while Trina Robinson makes an uncomfortable confession to Kai: her father owns the very nightclub where they’re headed. Finally, Maxie Jones’s matchmaking attempts for Lucas Jones might just ignite some unwanted jealousy from Brad Cooper. As usual, the interpersonal relationships of Port Charles are about as stable as a house of cards in a hurricane.
General Hospital airs weekdays at 2:00 PM on ABC.
