Family, finances, and Meemaw’s gambling habit collide in this week’s episode of “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” In “Snitch v. Deadbeat,” airing Thursday on CBS, Mandy finds herself in a familiar sitcom predicament: stuck between her father and her in-laws. It seems Meemaw (Annie Potts, reprising her “Young Sheldon” role) is owed a significant sum of money from Mandy’s dad due to some ill-fated gambling, and she’s not shy about collecting.
Georgie, ever the hapless husband, tries to mediate the situation, but as anyone who’s dealt with family squabbles knows, playing peacemaker rarely goes smoothly. With Craig T. Nelson guest-starring alongside Potts, this episode looks to be a winner for fans of the “Young Sheldon” universe. Expect plenty of laughs and a healthy dose of family dysfunction.
