The honeymoon phase, it seems, is officially over for Georgie and Mandy. Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, the spinoff that dares to ask “What if Young Sheldon had a slightly older, less precocious protagonist?”, is dealing with some surprisingly adult problems. Or, at least, “adult” by the standards of a CBS sitcom.
This week, Georgie stumbles upon the shocking truth about Jim’s annual tire convention. It’s apparently not all about radial plys and inflation pressures. Who knew? This revelation, naturally, throws a wrench into Georgie’s already somewhat tenuous grasp on adulthood. Meanwhile, Mandy is experiencing a full-blown existential crisis regarding her marriage. The show, starring Montana Jordan and Emily Osment, is at least attempting to ground its humor in something resembling relatable relationship anxieties.
