Zak Bagans and the “Ghost Adventures” crew are back, and this time they’re attempting to contact one of history’s most elusive figures: Harry Houdini. “The Houdini Séance,” airing this Wednesday, takes the team to the infamous Winchester Mystery House, a location steeped in its own paranormal lore.
The timing is no coincidence. The investigation takes place on the 100th anniversary of Houdini’s reported visit to the Winchester mansion. Was Houdini truly there? And if so, did he leave any trace of his presence behind?
Bagans and his team – Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley, and Jay Wasley – employ their usual arsenal of ghost-hunting gadgets, conducting a dusk-to-dawn lockdown in hopes of capturing evidence of Houdini’s spirit. They also interview eyewitnesses and historians, trying to piece together the puzzle of Houdini’s alleged connection to the house.
But “The Houdini Séance” isn’t just about finding ghosts. It also touches on Houdini’s skepticism about the paranormal, a skepticism he maintained even as he investigated the spiritualist movement of his time. Could this investigation provide the answers Houdini himself sought? Find out this Wednesday, April 23rd at 10:00 PM ET on Discovery.
