Few horror films hold the same creepy cultural cachet as 1982’s “Poltergeist.” Now, Zak Bagans and the “Ghost Adventures” crew are taking their paranormal investigations to the actual location where the film was shot, kicking off the series’ 28th season with a two-hour premiere this Wednesday.

In “Poltergeist House Curse,” the team explores the unsettling history of the house, seeking to determine if the film’s fictional terrors have any basis in reality. Rumors of a curse surrounding the property have swirled for years, adding an extra frisson of spookiness to the investigation.

A key element of the episode involves a relic from the original film, an object believed to harbor some kind of sinister energy. Bagans and his team will attempt to tap into whatever forces might reside within the house, hoping to uncover the truth behind the rumored curse.
