Troubled Giovanni Pernice, a former ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional, is in the news again but this time with his announcement on Instagram that he is join the Italian version of Strictly, known as ‘Ballando con le Stelle’ (Dancing with the Stars).
This follows Pernice’s abrupt exit from ‘Strictly’ earlier this year, where he spent nine successful years, including a win with Rose Ayling-Ellis.
Pernice has faced allegations regarding his off-screen conduct towards dance partners, which he has denied. With the backing of fans and former ‘Strictly’ partners like Drag Race judge Michelle Visage and Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham, he is now embarking on this new opportunity.
The twentieth anniversary series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ premieres on BBC One on September 14, 2024.
