Global Soul Kitchen gets ready to party in Monday’s second episode, airing at 10:30 PM ET on FYI. Chef Deborah VanTrece is back with a new menu designed for entertaining, featuring a pair of dishes as bold as they are unexpected: Kansas City-style barbecue salmon and Polish dill pickle chowder, better known as Zupa Ogórkowa.
In this episode, VanTrece starts with a base of smoked, seasoned salmon, which she serves with rich, cheesy biscuits for a Southern-inspired main course. On the soup front, she takes viewers through a step-by-step guide to Zupa Ogórkowa—a flavorful, tangy chowder made with a base of sautéed vegetables, broth, and chunks of smoked salmon to bring the meal full circle.
The series centers around VanTrece’s talent for fusion fare, drawing connections between Southern American cuisine and dishes from around the globe. Barbecue Salmon & Zupa Ogórkowa builds on that same theme—embracing unexpected flavor combinations and cross-cultural mashups that put a fresh spin on home cooking and entertaining.
