On Monday night, FYI presents a double serving of Global Soul Kitchen, featuring the culinary talents of Chef Deborah VanTrece.
In the first episode at 10:00 PM, Chef VanTrece puts a unique twist on a classic French sandwich, creating a Southern-style Fried Chicken Monte Cristo. She draws inspiration from the Croque Monsieur, a warm French ham and cheese sandwich, and adds her own creative spin. The result is a mouth-watering dish served with a cranberry sauce.
In the second episode, airing at 10:30 PM, Chef VanTrece takes a different approach by combining two culinary traditions: Southern fried chicken gizzards and French-Canadian poutine. She mixes these diverse ingredients, including fries, gravy, and cheese curds, to create a decadent and unique global dish: smothered chicken gizzard poutine.
