GMA3: What You Need to Know welcomes New York Fire Department Commissioner Laura Kavanagh, ABC News medical contributor Dr Darien Sutton, and Kindness Card Movement founder Jason Wright to the show.
Laura Kavanagh, the 34th Fire Commissioner of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), joins the show to discuss her role as the first woman to hold this position. Appointed by Mayor Eric Adams in 2022, Kavanagh has overseen the diversification of the FDNY applicant pool, including graduating the largest group of women in nearly three decades. She has nearly two decades of experience in public policy, government, and emergency management, and has served for more than 10 years at the FDNY, rising through the ranks.
Dr Darien Sutton, an emergency medicine physician and ABC News contributor, will answer viewer questions. Sutton, a New York native, is also the founder of Bus Stop Medicine, an educational social media platform where he teaches the public about various emergency cases and clinical topics.
Jason Wright, founder of the Kindness Card Movement, will share his work of spreading kindness around the world. The Kindness Card Movement involves giving cards to people who have shown kindness, with the aim of encouraging them to pay it forward and pass the kindness along to someone else.
