“Go Back To Where You Came From” returns for it’s second episode, putting preconceived notions about immigration to the ultimate test. This week, a group of Brits with strong opinions on the refugee crisis embark on a series of challenging journeys that will force them to confront the realities faced by those fleeing their homes.
Split into two groups, the participants experience different aspects of refugee life. One group meets a people smuggler and endures a harrowing sea crossing from Lebanon to Italy, learning firsthand about the desperation that drives people to risk their lives for a chance at a better future.
In Milan, they grapple with distinguishing between “genuine” refugees and economic migrants, a debate that often ignites passionate disagreements. The other group arrives on the Italian island of Lampedusa, a major entry point for refugees into Europe, witnessing the sheer scale of the humanitarian crisis. Later, both groups reunite in the Alps for a treacherous trek through the mountains.
Tune in to Channel 4 at 10:00 PM on Monday to see how these challenging journeys impact their views on immigration.
