Spring has sprung in the Netherlands. The tulips are blooming, the birds are chirping, and the Dutch are…celebrating Christmas? In the latest episode of “Going Dutch,” the calendar takes a backseat to tradition – or at least a very peculiar interpretation of it. “Once Upon a Twice Christmas” finds the Colonel and his American girlfriend, Katja, facing a cultural conundrum: their first Christmas dinner together, in the middle of April.
This being a sitcom, things don’t exactly go as planned. Expect awkward silences, miscommunications, and a healthy dose of cross-cultural chaos. “Going Dutch” mines its comedy from the inherent clashes between American sensibilities and Dutch customs, resulting in a brand of humor that is both relatable and refreshingly unique.
Tune in to see if the Colonel and Katja can survive this latest cultural hurdle, or if their relationship will go up in flames like a badly cooked oliebollen.
Going Dutch airs Thursdays at 9:30 PM on FOX.
