Discovery’s “Gold Rush” takes a detour from its usual format this Friday with a special episode that puts foreman Mitch Blaschke in the hot seat. In “Mine Boss for the Day,” Mitch gets a taste of what it’s like to run the entire operation, and it’s not all gold nuggets and glory.
From the moment he steps into the role, problems arise – and they don’t come one at a time. Broken water pumps, malfunctioning rock trucks, and stalled excavators throw the entire mining operation into chaos. It’s a trial by fire that will test Mitch’s leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and his capacity to maintain a cool head under pressure.
