The CW Network, Roku Originals, and Stan have joined forces for a new original series titled GOOD COP/BAD COP, featuring a star-studded cast including Leighton Meester, Luke Cook, and Clancy Brown.
Created by John Quaintance and produced by Jeff Wachtel’s Future Shack Entertainment and Jungle Entertainment, the eight-part procedural dramedy is set to begin production later this spring in Queensland, Australia. The show is scheduled to premiere on The CW in 2025 and will also be available for streaming on The Roku Channel in the U.S. and Stan in Australia.
President of Entertainment at The CW Network, Brad Schwartz expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration: “It is really exciting to collaborate with Roku and Stan on this great new series starring Leighton Meester… Writer John Quaintance and executive producer Jeff Wachtel have created a fun and funny drama full of clever storytelling… With Jeff’s track record of launching shows like ‘Suits,’ ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ and ‘Psych,’ we are thrilled for him to bring his hitmaking magic to The CW.”
GOOD COP/BAD COP follows Lou (Leighton Meester) and Henry (Luke Cook), an unconventional sister-brother detective duo within a small police force in the Pacific Northwest. Together, they navigate challenges posed by eccentric residents, limited resources, as well as their complex relationship with their father-figure police chief, Big Hank (Clancy Brown).
Brian Tannenbaum, Head of Originals at Roku Media emphasized the appeal of the series: “Backed by the all-star creative team… GOOD COP/BAD COP is the type of series that will instantly draw viewers in… We strive to bring our audiences bold and fresh original programming…”
Stan Chief Content Officer Cailah Scobie highlighted Stan’s commitment to delivering top-tier content: “Stan continues to be the Australian partner of choice… GOOD COP/BAD COP is a highly anticipated addition to our Originals slate… We look forward to working with Jeff Wachtel’s Future Shack, with the team at Jungle, and with Leighton Meester, Luke Cook and Clancy Brown…”
The series is written and executive produced by John Quaintance, with Trent O’Donnell serving as an executive producer and director alongside Chloe Rickard. Jeff Wachtel also acts as an executive producer. The production is supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland’s Production Attraction Strategy.
