On Monday, May 20, 2024, Good Morning America welcomes Kevin Kwan, the bestselling author of Crazy Rich Asians, to discuss his latest novel, Lies and Weddings. The show will also feature interviews with actress Daisy Ridley, who will be talking about her new film Young Woman and the Sea, and actor Chris Hemsworth, who will be discussing his role in the upcoming film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
Kwan’s new book, Lies and Weddings, is described as “a glittering tale of love and longing.” It follows an Asian American woman, Lucie Churchill, who is caught between the fiancé of her New York elite family’s dreams and the man she is trying not to fall in love with, George Zao. Kwan has described the novel as “a summer escape full of travel, food, fun, and fashion,” adding that “the outrageous characters will make your crazy families seem almost normal.”
Daisy Ridley, the British actress best known for her role as Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, will be discussing her new film Young Woman and the Sea. Ridley has also starred in films such as Chaos Walking and Murder on the Orient Express.
Chris Hemsworth, the Australian actor known for his roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the Thor franchise, will be talking about his role in the upcoming film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Hemsworth has also recently starred in the National Geographic series Limitless, in which he underwent extensive bloodwork and discovered he may be at risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
