Cruise ship crooner-turned-amateur-sleuth Jack Grayling (Shayne Ward) is back for more maritime mysteries in the second season of “The Good Ship Murder.” This time, the titular good ship docks in Rome, providing a backdrop of ancient ruins and simmering family drama.
Jack’s attempts at romance with First Officer Kate Woods (Catherine Tyldesley) are thwarted by the arrival of his estranged daughter, Mia (Millie Kent). Mia, seemingly determined to sabotage her father’s happiness, sets about meddling in Jack and Kate’s relationship with the subtlety of a foghorn.
Amidst this familial chaos, an opera troupe member meets an untimely end, prompting Jack and Kate to dust off their detective skills. Mia’s meddling reaches a fever pitch as she runs away with a suspect, adding another wrinkle to the already complicated case.
Will Jack solve the murder before his personal life capsizes entirely? Will Mia’s interference lead to a permanent rift between Jack and Kate? Will anyone on this ship ever enjoy a peaceful cruise? Tune in to Channel 5 on Friday, 10 January, 2025, at 9:00 PM to find out.
