Foxtel is firing up the ovens again. The Great Australian Bake Off is set to return for Season 8 with a fresh co-host, a full 10-episode order, and an eye already on a follow-up season.

Comedian Tom Walker will join Natalie Tran in the tent for the first time, stepping into the role left vacant by the late Cal Wilson, who passed in 2023. The hosting shake-up comes as Foxtel doubles down on the franchise, confirming it has already greenlit Season 9, with casting currently underway.

Returning judges Rachel Khoo and Darren Purchese are back at the bench, overseeing 12 new amateur bakers facing off in themed challenges across the usual sugar-coated gauntlet—from Tropical Tarts to Biscuit Dioramas and Edible Terrariums.

Walker, known for his left-field comedy on Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee, brings a different energy to the format, which continues to be produced by BBC Studios Productions Australia for Foxtel and Binge.

The format remains a key part of Foxtel’s unscripted play, with its comfort-food tone and reliable ratings performance keeping it a fixture on the baking competition circuit.
