The culinary competition heats up on “Great British Menu” this Thursday as the two highest-scoring chefs from central and eastern England go head-to-head. Having impressed the judges with their individual dishes, they now face the daunting task of cooking their full six-course menus for a chance to represent their region in the national finals.
The judging panel, consisting of the ever-discerning Tom Kerridge, Lorna McNee, and Ed Gamble, will be joined by special guest judge, Olympic heptathlete Dame Denise Lewis. This year’s theme celebrates great Britons of the past, adding a historical and cultural dimension to the culinary creations. The chefs will need to impress with both their technical skills and their ability to capture the essence of their chosen historical figure through their dishes. The pressure is immense, with a place in the national finals – and the opportunity to cook a four-course banquet for a high-profile figure – hanging in the balance.
Which chef will rise to the occasion and impress the judges with their culinary prowess and thematic interpretations? Find out on BBC Two, Thursday, March 6th at 8:00 PM.
