“Great British Menu” returns to BBC Two this Tuesday, celebrating two decades of culinary competition with its 20th-anniversary season. In this episode, four chefs from central and eastern England battle it out in the kitchen, creating canapés, starters, and fish dishes inspired by great Britons of the past. The ultimate goal? A chance to cook a four-course banquet at the historic Blenheim Palace.
This episode sees the chefs putting their own spin on classic dishes, with historical figures providing the inspiration. Judge Tommy Banks, himself a Michelin-starred chef, has high expectations. Among the culinary creations are a Tolkien-inspired pomme soufflé ring and a rather ambitious fish wellington. Will these dishes earn the judges’ approval, or will they fall flat?
Tune in to BBC Two Tuesday, March 4th at 8:00 PM.
