Things heat up in the kitchen as “Great British Menu” enters its final week. This season, the competition marks its 20th anniversary with a celebratory banquet at the iconic Blenheim Palace. Eight chefs, each a victor in their regional heat, now face off in a culinary showdown that will test their skills and creativity.
Monday’s episode focuses on the all-important starter course, and there’s a twist: all eight dishes must be vegan. The pressure is on as these culinary titans present their creations to the discerning palates of Michelin-starred chefs Tom Kerridge and Lorna McNee, along with food podcast host and resident wit, Ed Gamble. Adding to the tension, a surprise guest judge joins the panel: acclaimed British cinema director Gurinder Chadha.
With reputations on the line and a coveted spot on the Blenheim Palace banquet menu at stake, the chefs pull out all the stops. Each dish draws inspiration from great Britons of the past. Will the chefs manage to improve upon their scores from the regional heats?
