Great Performances presents the 21st Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert, which took place on June 7, 2024, in the Schönbrunn Palace Park in Vienna, Austria. The concert, conducted by Maestro Andris Nelsons, featured Norwegian opera singer Lise Davidsen as a vocal soloist.
Davidsen’s exceptional talent is on display performing arias from Richard Wagner’s Tannhäuser and Giuseppe Verdi’s La forza del destino. The concert also pays tribute to Czech composer Bedrich Smetana’s bicentennial with three of his musical compositions.
The Summer Night Concert is an annual event that has been held since 2004. It is a celebration of music and culture, taking place in the beautiful and historic setting of the Schönbrunn Palace Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
