Things are heating up in the pottery as “The Great Pottery Throw Down” enters its quarter-final stage. The pressure is mounting for the remaining five potters as they face two daunting challenges that will test their skills, creativity, and resilience. First, they must construct intricate double gourd vases, adding a twist by building their own kilns for firing. Expect smoke, flames, and perhaps a few cracked creations along the way.
But the challenges don’t stop there. Judges Keith Brymer Jones and Rich Miller throw in a surprise second challenge: crafting a posset pot. With the semi-final looming, the stakes are higher than ever. One potter’s dream will be shattered, their journey ending just short of the finish line. Host Siobhán McSweeney, the ever-supportive guide through the highs and lows of pottery, will be on hand to offer encouragement and console the heartbroken.
Who will crack under pressure, and who will rise to the challenge?
“The Great Pottery Throw Down” airs on Channel 4 at 7:45 PM on Sunday, February 23, 2025.
