Crime & Investigation presents a new episode of Green Eyed Killers, titled Falonda and Davonda Washington, airing on Wednesday, 5 June 2024. The episode explores the tragic deaths of Falonda Simpson and her daughter, Davonda Washington, who were found dead in their Mississippi home in 2018.
On 5 June 2018, 45-year-old Falonda Simpson and her 21-year-old daughter, Davonda Washington, were discovered dead in their home in Madison County, Mississippi. Their bodies had been set on fire, and the house was burned down. Authorities traced the horrific crime to Falonda’s husband and Davonda’s stepfather, Walter Simpson. He was arrested, charged, and later convicted of two counts of first-degree murder.
The investigation uncovered a disturbing sequence of events. It was revealed that Simpson had made unwanted sexual advances towards Davonda, and when she confided in her mother, Falonda confronted Simpson and asked him to leave. In a fit of rage, Simpson stabbed Falonda four times and Davonda a shocking 54 times. He then attempted to conceal the evidence by setting their bodies and house on fire and fleeing the scene.
Simpson had a previous conviction for a similar crime in 1998, where he stabbed his girlfriend, causing her to lose an eye. This disturbing pattern of violence resulted in Simpson being sentenced to two life sentences without the possibility of parole, as well as additional years for arson and gun charges.
