The documentary series Green Eyed Killers returns with an episode focusing on the tragic case of Hollie Gazzard. Hollie, a 20-year-old hairdresser from Gloucester, lost her life in a violent attack by her ex-boyfriend, Asher Thomas Maslin, just days after ending their relationship.
The episode, airing on Crime & Investigation on Wednesday, 21 August 2024, at 9:00 pm, examines the disturbing events that led to Hollie’s death and the subsequent investigation. Hollie and Maslin had been in a relationship, during which he exhibited violent behaviour towards her. After their separation, his behaviour became increasingly threatening.
On 18 February, Maslin carried out a fatal attack on Hollie at the salon where she worked. Despite the efforts of her colleagues and customers to intervene, they were warned off by Maslin, and Hollie ultimately succumbed to her injuries in hospital.
The programme examines the actions of Gloucestershire Constabulary and the subsequent investigation by the police watchdog into their contact with Hollie prior to her death. Maslin, 22, was charged and sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of 24 years, for Hollie’s murder.
