Greg Davies comedy The Cleaner has revealed a high profile guest cast for it’s second season including the likes of Simon Callow, Asim Chaudhry, Zoë Wanamaker, music legend Shakin’ Stevens, Davies Man Down co-star Roisin Conaty and Mark Lewis-Jones.
Paul “Wicky” Wickstead (Greg Davies), the protagonist of the Greg Davies-cowritten and -starring comedy series The Cleaner, continues his adventures in the cleaning industry. Wicky goes back to work with his arsenal of chemicals, scrub brushes, and cleaning rags to clean up the theatre, electronics store, and mansion where new crimes have taken place. As he cleans and tries to make his way to the pub, he makes the acquaintance of some quite peculiar people.
Greg Davies says: “I’m so thrilled that Wicky is back for another round of clean ups and delighted that he is doing so on BBC One. The cast for this series are brilliant and that there are so many distinguished actors amongst them leads me to believe that the BBC have secrets that they are using as leverage. Me, the writing and production teams are very grateful for this support.”
Other guest stars include Harriet Walter (This Is Going to Hurt), John MacMillan (House of the Dragon), Alex Lawther (The End of the F..ing World), Susannah Fielding (This Time With Alan Partridge), Rudi Dharmalingam (The Split), Joshua McCord (The Tuckers), Louis Emerick (Zapped), Amy Morgan (Mr Selfridge), Charlie Rawes (Dune), Jemma Carlton (Maxine), Rebecca Lee (Call the Midwife), Cassius Thompson and Zita Sattar who will be back as PS Ruth Edwards.

The Cleaner is based on the multi award winning long-running German comedy series Der Tatortreiniger created by Mizzi Meyer. Season two is a SHUK production
The Cleaner series two (6×30′) is produced by SHUK, and BBC Comedy Director Jon Petrie commissioned the show. Sam Ward is the producer and Vivien Muller-Rommel is the executive producer for SHUK. Ben Caudell is the BBC’s commissioning editor.
Season 2 co-writers with Davies are Paul Allen, Barry Castagnola, Meg Salter and Mike Wozniak. The series is directed by Tom Marshall and Dominic Brigstocke.
