UKTV has announced a new four-part documentary series, Guy Martin’s Proper Jobs, for U&Dave and the streaming service U set to air in 2025. Produced by North One, the series will feature motorcycle racer, truck fitter, and TV presenter Guy Martin as he tackles demanding and dangerous jobs, highlighting the skills and dedication of those who perform them.
Martin, known for embracing new challenges, will fully immerse himself in each role, undergoing training and living with his co-workers to understand the local and cultural significance of these professions. The series will see Martin take on roles such as a trawler deckhand in Grimsby, a wildlife warden on the Calf of Man island, a firefighter, and a mountain rescue guide, facing challenging and scary situations.
Guy Martin’s Proper Jobs is produced by North One for U&Dave and U. The series has been commissioned by Helen Nightingale, Head of Factual for UKTV, and ordered for U&Dave by Cherie Hall and Hilary Rosen. The executive producer for North One is Steve Gowans, and the series producers and directors are Ewan Keil and James Woodroffe.
