Let’s be honest, the Venn diagram of “People Who Watch Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” and “People Who Watch Guy’s Grocery Games” is basically a circle. So, Food Network is wisely tapping into that shared viewership with “DDD-elicious,” an episode seemingly engineered in a lab to maximize comfort-food cravings and supermarket sweepstakes fantasies.
This Grocery Games installment features chefs previously spotlighted on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, bringing their signature dishes (and, presumably, their Guy Fieri-approved charisma) to Flavortown Market. But there’s a twist. A coin flip will dictate whether these culinary road warriors can shop in odd or even-numbered aisles, forcing them to improvise and possibly rethink their entire strategy.
The DDD chefs won’t be escaping the infamous GGG dice either. This dreaded cube will determine mandatory ingredients, descriptive adjectives (crispy, spicy, etc.), and required cooking equipment for their next challenge — an “elevated comfort classic.” So, expect some unusual flavor combinations and frantic scrambles for the last immersion blender.
As always, the ultimate prize awaits: a shot at a $20,000 shopping spree in Flavortown Market. It’s the kind of windfall that could stock a small restaurant for a year or, alternatively, just buy an awful lot of donkey sauce.
Tune in to Food Network on Wednesday, November 13 at 9:00 PM ET/PT to witness this clash of culinary titans.
