Guy Fieri is at it again, turning up the heat in Flavortown with a special “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives” crossover on “Guy’s Grocery Games.” This Wednesday, three sandwich slingers from Guy’s DDD empire face off for a chance to win $20,000. Mayonnaise may be an instrument, but this is a full-contact sport.
The challenge begins with a spicy sandwich creation, limited to a mere nine ingredients. It’s a test of culinary ingenuity, like a “Chopped” basket on steroids. Next up, a “stacked and jacked” sandwich – which, frankly, sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen, but in a good way. And because this is Guy’s world, there’s an added twist: the chefs have to incorporate “sammie whammies” from a chaotic round of grocery bowl. Just another day at the Flavortown market.
