Hallmark has greenlit The Twelve Dates of Christmas, a six-part limited series based on Jenni Bayliss’s novel. Production is underway in Dublin, Ireland, with a planned premiere during the 2025 holiday season.
Here’s the Lowdown: The series centers on Kate, a textile pattern designer in a small English village. Her best friend signs her up for a holiday-themed matchmaking program, “The 12 Dates of Christmas,” to help her out of a rut. Kate’s life gets further complicated when her adventurous American mother unexpectedly arrives. The cast includes Mae Whitman, Mary McDonnell, Jane Seymour, Lucy Eaton, Julian Morris, Toby Sandeman and Nathaniel Parker.
What This Means Now: This is another addition to Hallmark’s extensive collection of holiday-themed programming. The limited series format allows for a more in-depth exploration of the story and characters.
The Bigger Picture: The show, produced by Dynamic Television and Metropolitan Pictures, presents a story of personal growth and rediscovery set against the backdrop of the Christmas season. Hallmark continues to use the tried-and-tested festive theme. The creative team includes Erin Rodman and Davah Avena, who developed the series, along with executive producers Carrie Stein, Dan March, and David McLoughlin. Samantha DiPippo from Hallmark described the series as an adaptation that will take you into the “unique magic of the holiday seasons in London.”
