2024 had its share of sporting triumphs and face-plants. And what better way to dissect the year’s athletic endeavors than with a healthy dose of British wit? Have I Got Sport for You, the sporting sibling of the enduring Have I Got News For You, returns for a one-off special, ready to skewer the highlights (and lowlights) of the past twelve months.
Jason Manford takes the reins as host, attempting to wrangle a panel of comedians and sports personalities known for their competitive spirit and quick tongues. Team captains Maisie Adam and Jon Richardson are set to lock horns, each vying for comedic supremacy. And with a guest list featuring the likes of boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, Olympic heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Paralympic cyclist Kadeena Cox, and cricketing legend Stuart Broad, the potential for fireworks is substantial.
From boxing ring controversies to Olympic glory (and everything in between), no sporting stone will be left unturned. Expect a rapid-fire barrage of witty banter, playful ribbing, and the occasional insightful observation (maybe). It’s a chance to relive the year’s biggest sporting moments, filtered through the lens of some of Britain’s sharpest comedic minds.
Have I Got Sport for You airs Friday, January 3, 2025, at 8:30 PM on BBC One.
