Heather Butts has been announced as the new Weekend Anchor of CTV NATIONAL NEWS, replacing Sandie Rinaldo. Butts, with close to 15 years of experience covering breaking news stories in various Canadian communities, currently serves as the Toronto Correspondent for CTV NATIONAL NEWS. She is honored to take on this new role and is looking forward to sharing important stories affecting Canada and the world with viewers every weekend.

Richard Gray, VP of News at Bell Media, expressed confidence in Butts’ abilities, stating that her addition to the CTV NATIONAL NEWS team, alongside Omar Sachedina and Sandie Rinaldo, will continue to provide Canadians with the trusted news they expect from the country’s most-watched national newscast.

Throughout her career with CTV News, Butts has covered a wide range of breaking news and major events, including the COVID-19 pandemic, provincial and federal elections, the 2018 Fredericton mass shooting, and Hurricane Dorian. She has also produced features on topics such as autism, healthcare, and affordability, and has covered international events like the 2022 mass stabbing at James Smith Cree Nation in Saskatchewan and the funeral of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI in Rome.
