The Heiress and the Handyman, a new original movie, premieres Saturday, September 14 (8:00 p.m. ET/PT) on Hallmark Channel as part of its Fall into Love programming event.
The movie stars Jodie Sweetin (The Jane Mysteries) and Corey Sevier (Everything Christmas) in a romantic tale of mistaken identity.
Wealthy heiress June Waltshire (Sweetin) is enjoying a relaxing vacation at one of her family’s luxurious six-star hotels in Greece when she receives shocking news. She learns that her entire fortune has vanished in a cryptocurrency crisis, leaving her with nothing—no hotels, jets, houses, cars, yachts, or designer bags.
Returning broke to New York, June discovers a safe deposit box containing the deed to a country house. As she embarks on her new rural life, June mistakenly identifies her handsome neighbor, Bart Hudson (Sevier), as the handyman. Bart is intrigued by June but quickly corrects her assumption about his profession. Out of sympathy for her situation, Bart offers to show June around town.
Together, they join forces to revive June’s family fall fair legacy, tackling apple pies and the livestock parade. As they work towards dominating the state fair, they learn about each other’s lives and develop genuine feelings. June ultimately faces a difficult decision about where her heart truly belongs.
The Heiress and the Handyman is produced by Brain Power Studio Inc., with Beth Stevenson, Jodie Sweetin, Nancy Yeaman, and Stan Hum serving as executive producers. Jessica Reis produces, alongside co-producer Peter Durst and line producer Donald Teuma-Castelletti. The film is directed by Marco Deufemia and written by Paula Tiberius.
The Heiress and the Handyman premieres Saturday, September 14, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.
