HGTV is clearing house. Farmhouse Fixer, the New England restoration series fronted by Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin, will not return for a fourth season. The cancellation adds to a growing list of recent exits from the network, including Married to Real Estate and Bargain Block.
Knight confirmed the news directly to fans via Instagram, calling the decision disappointing but thanking viewers for their support across three seasons. The series, which wrapped its most recent run in 2024, focused on breathing new life into historic farmhouses across Massachusetts and surrounding states. It built a loyal following for its craftsmanship, chemistry between co-hosts, and regional flair.
While HGTV has made no formal statement explaining the call, Knight said he is “still processing” the outcome. In his post, he noted how much he and Crestin enjoyed their time in front of the camera and hinted at future plans outside the network. “Television has been so incredibly fun for us. We are so proud of what we created together,” he wrote.
The decision to drop Farmhouse Fixer comes as HGTV appears to be reevaluating its slate of design-led series. Married to Real Estate, hosted by Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson, and Detroit renovation entry Bargain Block, featuring Keith Bynum and Evan Thomas, have both been quietly retired. None of the cancellations were announced with fanfare, but all were confirmed or acknowledged by talent online.
The trend raises questions about where HGTV is heading next. While tentpoles like Fixer to Fabulous and The Nate and Jeremiah Home Project remain in rotation, the network seems to be narrowing its focus. Whether that’s a cost-driven shift or a programming strategy reset remains to be seen.
For Knight and Crestin, the curtain has closed on Farmhouse Fixer—but with a fanbase intact and clear creative drive, both are unlikely to stay on the sidelines for long.
