Nobody needs four straight episodes of “House Hunters.” We have streaming services, podcasts, the ability to go outside – theoretically. Yet, the siren song of other people’s real estate anxieties is perpetually alluring, and HGTV knows it. So, on Thursday, November 28, starting at 8:00 PM, prepare for a four-hour block of agonizing decisions, strained budgets, and the inevitable granite countertop debate.
First up, in “Struggling to Compromise in Raleigh” (8:00 PM), a Raleigh, N.C., couple grapples with the age-old dilemma: move-in ready convenience or fixer-upper potential (and headaches). One can practically hear the muffled sighs and passive-aggressive comments about “vision” already.
Then, at 8:30 PM, “House Hunters” treks to Fargo, North Dakota, in “Nomads No More in Fargo.” A formerly nomadic couple seeks a place to call home, but their tastes clash. One craves vintage charm, the other, the sterile gleam of new construction. Will they find middle ground, or just a mid-century modern split-level?
At 9:00 PM, the location shifts to Cleveland for “Twinning in Cleveland.” Twin sisters, naturally, have wildly different housing preferences – downtown condo versus suburban sprawl. Sibling rivalry meets real estate angst – what could go wrong?
Finally, at 9:30 PM, “Settling Down in Rural Oklahoma” takes us to Atoka, Oklahoma, where a military family faces a familiar choice: a grand, statement-making home or something a tad more understated. Expect lots of talk about “square footage” and “curb appeal.”
So there you have it: four episodes, four couples, four distinct housing markets, and countless opportunities for vicarious stress-eating. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
“House Hunters” Marathon airs Thursday, November 28, 2024 from 8:00 PM on HGTV.
